The Rules
1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names and link to them.
4. Let them know they’ve been tagged by leaving a comment at their blog.
I was tagged by Yaklee (some of you may know her as Kaylee, because you are clearly misguided…), Lene and Xuan so here we go!
1. I have a love for country music, even though my entire family and the majority of my friends hate it with a fiery passion. One time, I chased one of my house mates, Steve, down the block singing Shania Twain, in my socks, in the snow.
2. I have a minor allergy to chocolate (actually, something inside of it). If I drink chocolate milk, I get sick because it is absorbed quickly. I still eat chocolate, because I love it, but if I have a lot, I have to drink something to dilute it a bit.
3. My most played song on iTunes is “Gotta Go My Own Way,” from HSM 2. It has been played 197 times since September 28th. Number two is “Where Will You Go,” by Evanescence, with 139 plays on November 14th alone. Not counting the time I was doing dishes, playing with my dog, or in the shower- during that time, I was listening to it on my iPod. I was in an odd mood, and just played it on a loop all day. I get like that- I find a song, and put it on repeat until I find a new one.
4. I received a Citizenship Award in grade twelve, and I still don’t know why! I was one of 21 students to get one. I got good grades that year, but nothing spectacular and I even failed math (Funnily enough, the awards ceremony was during my math class, so I was failing AND missing more classes than necessary!). I was involved in a few extra curriculars, but not as many as some other people I knew. To this day, I maintain that some teacher felt sorry for me, and nominated me out of pity.
5. I am addicted to stationery, especially pens and post-it notes. I have four baskets of writing utensils which are positively overflowing, and loads of post-its, in different shapes, many of which I do not use, because they are too pretty. For example, I have some pretty orange ones in the shape of tulips from when I worked at the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa last May. I worked in the main shopping area, and bought quite a few. I also bought a tulip pen.
6. I nickname people by adding a “y,” to the end of their names. For example: Justiney, Lissy, Karla-y, Alexy, Jadey, Joelley, Rachaely. If you already have the “E,” sound attached to your name, then I have to get creative, a la Yaklee and Joy Ride.
7. I become attached to people easily. So attached, that I get visibly upset even thinking about having to be away from them, or to live without them.
Oh god, who shall I tag?? How about, Ambie, Chantelle, Chanel, Stu … and…. everyone else has already been tagged! Gahhh!
In other news, I had a pretty good day at work, I was pretty happy when I got home, and overall cheerful, but then I got here, and now… I’m kind of sad and emo. So, I will give you the scoop on my day-to-day life on a more sunshiney day, okay?

I usually nickname with a -ia sound. Natalia for my sister Natalie. Alexis becomes Alexia.
Poppy country such as Shania and Jessica Andrews I can stand but most country – that is about things like pro-war, soliders, dogs, and Jesus – I cannot stand. I think that country music is holding society back.
I used to add an “ee” sound to the end of people’s names too.
I think ‘Gotta Go My Own Way’ is my third most played song. (Incidentally, the only ones that beat it are ‘Breaking Free’ and ‘Everyday’ :(.)
Socks in the snow, singing Shania? Fun
I think you’re a great citizen! You deserve that award now, at least
Shania! Eeek, I haven’t heard her music for ages — last time I did, it was that “Feel Like A Woman” song or such …
Love your stationery addiction! Post-It notes are one of the more … colourful sides of boredom/fun/organisation/stickiness.
And don’t even get me started on file cards … !
Thanks for posting your memories of the Tulip Festival. Any pictures?
I like collecting pens as well, and I have so many! They’re overflowing my desk and I keep more boxes of them in a drawer. I have no idea why I keep so many, because I don’t even use all of them. It’s an addiction, I can’t help it! I’m glad I’m not the only one. I was beginning to think of myself as a pen klepto…I keep cool pens if I find them too.
