Well, I had quite a lovely visit with the darling Anny! I’ve really missed her more than I realized! It was great to see her, and we had a lot of fun! She arrived at my house on Sunday afternoon, and my family, her, and I, headed down to Heritage Park, for the 12 days of Christmas. Heritage Park is… a historical park, with a set-up of Calgary in 1910. (And soon, 1930s, which I am HIGHLY anticipating!) Each Christmas, they hold the 12 Days of Christmas on the weekend, and you go, and wander through the town, buy cheap Candy, shop in the shops, sing in the church, get fresh baked goods from the bakery, take a horse-drawn buggy ride, and… yeah. I’ve been going for ages and it was really fun to be able to share it with Anny this time, especially since I had mentioned it before, when we used to talk about home. I took Monday off work, and after grocery shopping, we went to Ikea! We spent three hours there! It was kind of funny, because we were hyper, and I was hungry (perhaps due to something I may or may not have inhaled as we sat in the parking lot, ha ha), and it was general insanity. There are a few photos, which you can see here. If you want, ha ha. We have a few from Heritage Park as well, but I haven’t put them on my computer yet. Anyway, yes, we went shopping at Market Mall as well. Then we rushed home for lasagna, and out again to go see “Across The Universe,” at the cinema. It was my second time, and Matt’s (my brother) third time, but Anny’s first. Sometime in all of this, we also managed to watch even more musicals, including “Hair,” “Rent,” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” At her sister’s house, Anny also got to see “Hairspray,” so, it was quite the musical weekend for her.
Also, I managed to snag her entire music collection and all of our Katimavik photos from her hard drive! There are over 9500 photos from our nine months in Katimavik! Crazy, huh? I am quite excited to have them, because I would like to work on a scrapbook, so I have something a little more concrete to cling to as far as memories go. However, looking at it, I may have to make three- one for each trimester! Ahh, we’ll see!
I had to work today, so I said good-bye to Anny, and left her to trash my house.
Okay, she didn’t actually trash it. She did leave me cute post-its on my mirror though. I didn’t even notice them until she called to tell me she’d left them there, ha ha. Now she is staying at West Edmonton Mall, at the Fantasyland Hotel, in the Polynesian Theme room! I’m jealous!
Anyway, I should wrap this up, because I have a SAFETY MEETING at 7am tomorrow. And there was major snowfall last night, and it took us over an hour to get to work this morning! Ugh, it is so cold, and I am seriously moving somewhere slightly warmer as soon as I can. Do I hear Vancouver calling my name? Or maybe England, which would be great with all the English people. I don’t want to go anywhere overly hot, either, because I don’t adjust well to heat. Ah well, I guess we’ll wait and see!
Hanging out in IKEA is soo fun! I’m glad you had a great time
And maybe the safety meeting will help you avoid further injuries? (I hope your shoulder is getting better!)
I need to move somewhere with a milder winter climate, too. Hate winter… I don’t mind hot summers, though!
