Well, the first part of the season is over! Now, we just have to party like it’s 2007/2008, and get on with next year! And work on losing the 30lbs we gained this year, but that is another story.

Now, it is time to deal with the Post-Christmas Mess. It’s time to sort through all of the stuff you may have received over the holidays, and find a place for it in your already-stuffed bedroom. We have to say goodbye to family until the next big event, and gird our loins, because the work season is about to start up again, and it will not be letting go until Easter weekend. (Well, for most of us. Luckily, in Alberta, we have a long weekend for “Family Day,” at the end of February. We use this day, to avoid our families) Now, is when we start thinking up the resolutions that we will plan to keep, and then drop at the first mention of Chunk Chocolate Brownies with Butter-cream Frosting (Slurp.).

I got quite a few great gifts this year! Including a new external hard drive (to relieve my laptop from the strain of 9500 Katimavik photos and other nonsense!), and lots of clothes, and DVDs, and money, and other stuff that I can’t even remember! I was spoiled! But, in the true spirit of Christmas, I also thought of others, and my family and I donated several hundred dollars worth of toys to Toy Mountain, and the Salvation Army (whom I love still, due to my brief encounter with church during billeting in Orleans. They were so lovely!).

I also realized that I am addicted to pyjamas. I already have a good odd 20 sets hanging out in my room. I bought more before Christmas. I received some for Christmas (pink with penguins!), and bought more on Boxing Day! Well, I suppose since I do spend an abnormal amount of time in them (from 5.30pm until 6.30am) I should make an investment! It is very important to look cute while one sleeps, to ensure happy dreams, and well-rest.

I’ve been thinking of resolutions, but other than the fact that I MUST LOSE THE 30LBS ACQUIRED DURING 2007, I’m not sure I will post them! I mean, everyone posts them. I’m sure you’ll get enough of a fill from that!

Er, my great grandmother passed away yesterday so that put a bit of a damper on the events. But she was 99, and lived quite the adventurous life, going from privileged, upper-class, Berlin socialite, to a farmer’s wife in newly settled Northern Alberta. It wasn’t so much a big deal for my brother and I, who both have only been to visit two handfuls worth in our lives, but my mom took it relatively hard. As, I’m sure, did my grandmother, since she is now an orphan, at 73 years old.

And… that’s about it, I guess! Tomorrow, I shall hopefully buy a new iPod, then Saturday I’m off to Justine’s 19th birthday party! Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will probably involve me being bored, and moping around at home, and then back to work (Uuuuurrrgggghhh.) until February. Or, until January 9th, when my brother leaves, but I might still have to work part of the day.
