Why? You may be asking yourself this question.

Have I been in some sort of accident? Has my right arm been torn off by some sort of machine?

No. Thankfully.

Actually, my darling kitty, Charley (she’s a girl, by the way) has decided that the best place for her pre-bedtime nap is on my lap. Never mind that this space was already occupied by my arm, which lay in a resting position while I planned my latest entry. And she is so cute with her big eyes and her loud purr and her round (she’s not fat, she’s fluffy!!!) body, all curled up on my lap (and on my arm) that I don’t dare move her. She’s so adorable, she’s always ready for a cuddle, and I am her favourite person in the whole world.

I don’t even care that my arm is numb. Or that sitting with my right side slunched like this hurts my back. Or that it took me ten minutes to write this. Or that she is digging her claws into my leg (a sign of affection, of course). She’s my little kitty cat.

This is unconditional love.

Since you asked, this is a photo of Charley. She’s like me, in that she is not very photogenic! Really, she just can’t be bothered to pose (which is quite the opposite of me, come to think of it, I am such a poser.) She will be 5 years old, I believe, and her estimated birthday is April 30th (she was a stray kitten, so the SPCA didn’t know her birth date for sure).

My kitty, Charley.
