My dad had a stroke yesterday. I was on my way home from work, and I called to check where my family was, to see if I could get a ride. Matt (my brother) told me they were going to the clinic. A few minutes later I got a call saying they were going to the ER. I went home, thinking maybe it wouldn’t be anything big, and that there was no point in waiting there when I could be getting stuff done at home. So, I went home, and waited.

Eventually, we found out that it was a stroke.

Now, my dad is in the hospital for… a few days at least.

You can probably tell by the disjointedness of this entry that I’m still a bit in shock. I really don’t know what to say.

Anyway, I will try to blog, but since I am the one with the most flexibility in my job (my supervisor already said I can take time off. My mom needs to work so we can have money, duh, and I’m not sure what my brother is going to do, but I think work might keep him occupied, instead of worrying.), I will be spending a lot of time at the hospital. Today we’ll be there most of the day, and then I don’t work for sure Monday or Tuesday, so I will be catching a few busses down there to spend the time between late morning and 5pm when Mom can’t be there. Then, if they let Dad come home for a few days, I will be the one staying with him. So, I guess there’s a perk to having a job that wants to cut your hours anyway? And one that is quite disposible…

Take care, everyone. And don’t forget to enter the MS Paint Design Challenge!
