Today was my first day of my second semester of my first year of post secondary education. Uh huh uh huh uh huh.
As far as Mondays go, I can’t complain. We have one class from 10-12. The plan is that I then rush off to work and put 4 hours in before heading home to do homework. Every other day I am looking at full days that start at 9 (or 8 on Friday) and end at 5 (or 4 on Friday), plus about 3 hours of travel time per day, followed by homework, in addition to some possible extra things. Then, I will work on Saturday, try and fit my entire social life into the period of time between 3pm and bedtime. Sunday is my “day off” which more often than not is dedicated to more school work.
It’s busy.
But, truthfully, I enjoy being busy. I’m sure I will be tired, but it sure beats the boredom that I felt over winter break! And it’s worth it. It’s important to me to maintain a strong work ethic and achieve good grades. There is a bit of room for flexibility, and if things get to be too much I will just drop my Monday work shift and not buy as many White Mochas from Starbucks.
How about you guys? Are you the sort of person who enjoys being busy, or do you need a lot of free time? I understand needing time on my own, and I’m kind of hoping I can somehow incorporate my love for extremely loud music into this, and some healthiness, and trick myself into enjoying being on the treadmill. We’ll see how that goes.

I’m the likes-to-be-busy type, but most of that comes from being ill. If I have lots to do, I don’t have time to get emo about feeling like crap YET AGAIN! *whine*
If I was healthy, I’d probably wish for more free time.
I am extremely jealous that you’re back at school, and I’ve still got to sit here in the freakin’ heat for another 49 days, twiddling my thumbs in between each piece of Twitter spam. *whine again*
Being busy is great, isn’t it?
Right now, I’m not busy, though. I’m on a vacation of sorts. During Oct., Nov., and the beginning of Dec., I was super busy like you. I had a random class for 2 hours in the morning, then I worked full time. Sometimes, I did stuff for my students on the side for free. On Sat. (sometimes Sunday too), I volunteered. Most of the time I went to bed between 2 and 5, but I was rarely up before 8:30. I still spent time with my friends, though. Sometimes, on Fridays I would go out with them (stay out all night) and go home in the morning, sleep, and then volunteer.
I like being busy… doing things I want to do. Like crocheting. And sewing. And reading. And drawing. Spending time w/ my twin. And blogging. And playing D&D. And hanging out w/ my bf. And even working out at the gym. If I could be busy with that all day long I’d be a happy camper.
But instead I work Mon-Fri, 10 am to 6pm. So i have to squish all of said above into the few hours in the morning and the few hours in the evening. I feel busy alllll the time ~_~ but like you said, it’s a good feeling.
I like a nice balance. Too much free time gets boring *coughsummervacationcough*, but I CANNOT cope without at least a little free time every day. Like, it doesn’t matter if I have a day where I don’t have to do anything after a day where I have no time at all – if I have no time in one day, I explode. For real. It’s kind of messy.
Good luck with everything – and I hope you have at least a little time to relax!
Yikes, you sound busier than I am this semester! But I agree with you about being busy. If you’re doing something you love, it is so much nicer to be busy rather than either doing nothing or having to do things you don’t care about. I do like having personal/”alone” time though, which is pretty hard to find during a busy semester.
Good luck with the semester!
I like being busy but with some regular down-time. Since I usually don’t have any homework that I need to do, I prefer to be out all day and only spend 2 to 3 hours at home. However, during a break, I quickly get used to being lazy and not doing anything, which also suits me
You got Monday’s lucky. I wish my school day was only 2 hours long, especially on Mondays. But as for your other days, they sound almost hectic.
I hate having too many things to do. I like to have a mix of complicated and minimal, if that’s possible.
YES i love staying busy and I am every single day! Good luck with everything =)
Wow, I would be so tired if I had your busy schedule! I work 9-5, mon-fri and I have weekends off. I do prefer to be at work really, even if I say I don’t, I need something to make the day go quicker. I’m definitely someone who needs lots of free time, I love being lazy on the weekends.
Good luck with school
I like being busy, as long as I know I have time to relax at the end of it!
