I admit it.

A while back, I would have been among the people to say that Apple is overpriced and not really worth it. I’ve had various iPods since 2007 (after ditching Creative Zen after too many glitches), but I figured Windows vs. Mac couldn’t be too different, in terms of operating systems for my laptop.

I was wrong, as I found out after my parents bought me a Macbook Pro for school, and I fell in love.

Now, if you clicked over to the link above, or you remember me gushing over the two techie gadgets that I received in early September, you may remember how I got a Samsung Link cell phone as well. I went on and on about how I loved it to bits, etc.

Yeah. About that.

I wasn’t able to find a Moleskine planner for JUST 2010 this month. They all started last summer. This made me sad, because I didn’t want 4 months of blank pages. But I’ve recently found myself not managing my time or being as organized as I would like, so I thought “I need an organizer.” Since I have my MBP, it made sense that I try and find something compatible. I looked up the prices of a Blackberry, and then decided to be cheap and not get one.

The other day, my brother, who had inherited my old phone, came home took it out of his pocket to reveal a completely cracked screen, which caused the entire screen to white out and become totally useless. Matt usually just inherits phones from me. He was going to use his old phone, but it doesn’t have a QWERTY keyboard like he (and I) like. So.. er…

I got an iPhone!

Yeah, that’s a bit of a jump, isn’t it? Considering a Blackberry Curve is $0 with a 3 year contract, and an iPhone 3GS is $199, and I am a poor student. My parents paid for most of the phone as an early birthday present! Yay! :D

So far, I LOVE it. LOVEEEE IT. It integrates with all of my Mac stuff so nicely, and apps are the best thing invented ever. My favourite so far is probably the Where’s Waldo one, because… well, duh, I can play Where’s Waldo everywhere! I’ve just never been on a 3 year plan before, so I’m a bit worried about the commitment. Which in turn, worries me about commitment in general, such as, will I ever be able to marry anyone if I can’t keep a phone for longer than a year? I suppose this is test number 1.

I also got my vacation pay from last year, which bumped my savings account up to just enough to cover my third semester of school. This means I have 11 months to save about $2200, which is obviously WAY too do-able, and I feel accomplished and grown up. Now THERE’S a commitment I stuck with!

I feel better now.
